East Lansing Pilates Center

The original Pilates method of body conditioning

Purchase a package of private reformer classes before June 19th, and save $50 to $100 on your package price.

The studio is currently in need of people who are interested in doing a reformer duet class. First class would be free, and you would have to have no major exercise restrictions. No experience necessary!!

Private sessions

During a private session, clients spend time on both the pilates equipment (predominantly on the reformer) and mat, perfecting a workout that is tailored to your specific needs and goals. On the equipment, you will get a more well rounded workout, including upper body, lower body, and deeper assisted stretching.

Group mat classes

In a mat class, you will be learning a series of exercises on the floor or mat. They can be done with little or no equipment, emphasizing posture, alignment, breathing, and core strengthening. Classes are labeled basic, intermediate, and advanced. It's recommended that you start with basic, regardless of your fitness level. Advanced class is by permission only.

Introductory package

The studio is not offering it's traditional introductory package, due to limited mat class availability. Instead, we are offering one free session to all new clients who are interested in trying a private reformer class.

About the instructor

Steve Sisk is a first generation Romana's Pilates certified instructor, also known as True Pilates (formerly Pilates Inc.). He was certified in 2000 and has been teaching continually for almost 20 years. He has worked with people on every level in Pilates, from the most basic new client, to high level athletes. He has worked with clients who have had a wide range of chronic pain and injury issues, including disk problems, severe scoliosis, spinal stenosis, kyphosis, and general bad posture and muscle imbalances. He has also worked with several professional football and hockey players, a former Miss Michigan and Miss America contestant.

Nobody can do what we can do

Contrology or Pilates may be just words to many people, but at East Lansing Pilates Center, it’s the exercises and philosophies of Joseph and Clara Pilates that we teach, as handed down to protégé Romana and her daughter Sari. This is what we call True Pilates. Through True Pilates you first purposefully acquire complete control of your own body and then, through proper repetition of its exercises, you gradually and progressively acquire that natural rhythm and coordination associated with all your mental and subconscious activities. True Pilates is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace and skill that will be unmistakably reflected in the way you walk, play and work. You will develop muscular power with corresponding endurance, ability to perform arduous duties, to play strenuous games, to walk, run or travel for long distances without undue body fatigue or mental strain.

Group mat class schedule

The studio is scheduling mat classes upon request. Must have at least 3 people, and no more than 5. Schedule for the time that works best for you! Call, text or email the studio for details.
